Merith is built to be helpful, curious, and engaging. The goal is not a cold assistant, but a digital companion that can adapt, collaborate, and grow over time.

AI Progress So Far

Since October 2024, development has focused on a practical framework combining a local LLM, speech systems, and memory retrieval so Merith can participate naturally in live and community contexts.

  • Text-to-Speech: LuxTTS
  • Speech-to-Text: Whisper STT
  • Memory: Chroma RAG with BGE-base embeddings

Current Focus

Work is underway on Gemma 4 abliterated support and broader framework upgrades so Merith can operate as a reliable livestream co-host while allowing fast switching between different AI personalities.
